Saber o nome do lugar é metade. A outra metade é a preposição que diz a posição dele. As que mais aparecem são estas:
"The bank is next to the post office." O banco fica ao lado do correio.
"The bakery is across from the park." A padaria fica em frente ao parque.
"There's a pharmacy between the bank and the coffee shop."
"The train station is behind the mall." A estação de trem fica atrás do shopping.
"City hall is on the corner of Main Street and 5th Avenue."
A estrutura coringa é "Is there a... near here?" e a resposta costuma vir com as preposições que você acabou de ver.
"Is there a bakery near here?" Tem uma padaria aqui perto?
"Excuse me, where's the nearest gas station?"
"How do I get to the subway station?" Como eu chego na estação de metrô?
"It's two blocks down, on your left."
"Go straight and turn right at the library."
"The nearest ATM", "the nearest pharmacy", "the nearest bus stop".
E que as frases giram sempre em torno de "Is there a... near here?", "Where's the nearest...?" e "It's next to / across from / behind...".
