E na hora de montar sai "more cheap", "more hot", "the most good".
"This hotel is cheaper than the other one."
"This is the most expensive restaurant in the city."
Repara: o comparativo usa "than" (do que). O superlativo usa "the" antes e, muitas vezes, "in" ou "of" depois ("in the city", "of the year").
Dica: comparativo é entre dois. Superlativo é entre três ou mais. "Which one is bigger?" (dois) e "Which one is the biggest?" (vários).

Alguns adjetivos de duas sílabas aceitam as duas formas: "quiet" (quieter ou more quiet), "clever" (cleverer ou more clever), "narrow" (narrower ou more narrow). Nesses, as duas estão certas.
Você não precisa decorar cem adjetivos. Precisa saber a regra do tamanho e os sete irregulares. O resto a regra faz.
Os irregulares: a tabela que você decora
| Adjetivo | Comparativo | Superlativo | Tradução |
|---|---|---|---|
| good | better | the best | bom |
| bad | worse | the worst | ruim |
| far | farther / further | the farthest / the furthest | longe |
| little | less | the least | pouco |
| much / many | more | the most | muito |
| old (família) | elder | the eldest | mais velho (irmão, filho) |
| well (advérbio) | better | the best | bem |
| badly (advérbio) | worse | the worst | mal |
"It's the best pizza in town." É a melhor pizza da cidade.
"The traffic is worse on Fridays." O trânsito é pior às sextas.
"Boston is farther than I thought."
"I slept badly last night, but tonight was even worse."
Erros comuns do brasileiro
- "More cheap", "more big": adjetivo curto pede -er. É "cheaper", "bigger".
- "More better": "better" já é comparativo. Nunca "more" na frente.
- "The most good": não existe. É "the best".
- "Taller that me": comparação pede "than", não "that".
- "Beautifuler": adjetivo longo pede "more". É "more beautiful".
- Esquecer o "the" no superlativo: "She is best" está errado. É "She is the best".
Longo, more e most.
